These bioflavonoids are scientifically termed “oligomeric proanthocyanidins,” commonly abbreviated as “OPCs.” The best-researched OPCs include grape seed, red wine, grape skin, bilberries, citrus fruit and pine bark extract, or Pycnogenol®. This exclusive blend of powerful OPCs delivers comprehensive support for whole-body wellness. OPC-3 helps combat free radicals, support cardiovascular health, promote healthy circulation and maintain healthy cholesterol levels. It also helps maintain joint flexibility, visual acuity, skin health and healthy blood glucose levels — all while supporting nitric oxide levels, blood vessel dilation and even sperm quality.*

  • A free radical is a molecule with an unpaired electron in its outermost shell, making them highly unstable. These unpaired electrons tend to be highly reactive, resulting in chemical reactions such as oxidation. They scavenge the body to grab or donate electrons, impacting cells, proteins and DNA. Free radicals are naturally occurring; however, air pollution, stress, smoking, heavy exercise and aging all contribute to the creation of harmful free radicals. Free radicals can cause oxidative stress in the body. Normally, the body can protect itself from free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable or if free radical production becomes excessive, oxidation can occur.

  • Antioxidants are cell protectors, neutralizing free radicals by donating an electron to the outermost shell of unbalanced molecules, rendering them harmless. Antioxidants are nutrients — like vitamins and minerals — and enzymes that can counteract the effects of the physiological process of oxidation in bodily tissues. Antioxidants work in two ways: chain-breaking and prevention. Some chain-breaking antioxidants include vitamins A, C and E.

  • The difference is due to how each country regulates nutrition labeling. In the US, calorie amounts are rounded to the nearest five, so a product with 12 calories would be listed as 10 calories. In Taiwan, there is no requirement to round, so the exact calorie count (such as 12 calories) is shown on the label.

  • “Dual-layer” refers to a structural and formulation design concept, in which different functional components are positioned in distinct layers to support controlled release behavior, ingredient stability and a consistent digestive handling process. This design does not imply sequential absorption, oral absorption or enhanced bioavailability.

  • Fully hydrogenated palm oil is included to support the unique dual-layer Burst delivery system. This technology is designed to protect the active ingredients while providing the texture, stability, and sensory experience of the product. Unlike partially hydrogenated palm oils, the fully hydrogenated palm oils used in OPC-3 Burst do not produce industrial trans fats. The health concerns historically associated with hydrogenated palm oils relate to partially hydrogenated palm oils, which contain industrially produced trans fats. OPC-3 Burst contains no partially hydrogenated palm oils.These lipid components are not included for their nutritional value. They are food technology components that allow the dual-layer Burst delivery system to function as intended by performing several important functions:

Packaging a negative

The taste of this revised product is good, however, I hate the new packaging! This is a large cardboard cylinder that is doubled - a full cardboard cylinder with another one that slides over it. What a cumbersome item, no way to ever travel with this product as is. Also, why be so wasteful and use so much material for packaging? Yes, it looks good on a shelf....but what happened to the company's concern about its footprint? The small slits to open the individual pieces are inconsistent as well. I had to open some with a scissors.

opc3 chews

Im not going lie I miss the dna miracles and the opc3 chews. They are much easier to open for my arthritic hands and I thinks they tasted better and lasted longer. Still use these but I do like the option to choose one or the other.

They Work Great

They are much easier to chew than the old formula, they work great, which is what is important! They are great for travel and if you need a little more. No water needed just pop one in; I highly recommend them.

Terrible

The original opc3 chews really helped....why can't they leave a good product alone.....i will not buy this new one...I HOPE THEY WILL GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL OPC CHEWS

These are disgusting!

I want the original chews back! I literally couldn't finish one of these because it tasted so bitter at the end. I'm so disappointed that this is another product that I have to remove from my list....
